GHOST 2019/2020

  • by ghost

This semester GHOST will work in five groups – if you want to join us, it’s a last chance!

  1. Machine Learning Seminar
The group at each meeting discusses scientific papers from a selected area, e.g. types of augmentation or new optimization techniques. Every meeting a new topic is discussed, and each participant presents a different technique / approach on a given issue. Thanks to this, we hope that we quickly cover a vast amount of machine learning techniques.
  2. Kaggle group
The beginning of the group’s activity consists in analyzing the winning solutions of already completed competitions and trying to come up with alternative solutions. In the further phase, after such training, we will take part in current competitions on our own;)
  3. GHOSTRacer group
Continuation of the project that has been ongoing for several months – building a miniature “self-driving car”.
  4. Intro to ML group
A group for people starting their adventure with Machine Learning. The group will choose an online course or a book to study. Weekly meetings will be used to ask questions, solve exercises and discuss the topic.
  5. GHOST Day OC
Group ending the organization of the GHOST Day: AMLC conference at November 8, 2019 😉

PUT Student Organizations Day

  • by ghost

Yesterday the Day of Student Organizations took place at the Lecture Center of Poznan University of Technology. GHOST also had a stand! We were presenting how works a real-time object detection system based on the YOLO neural network. Basing on the number of new applications to our group – it was a great success 😉

GHOST in new semester

  • by ghost

Students ask us “What about GHOST this semester?” And we don’t know 😐
GHOST’s activities depends on the will of its members. In one semester we can read books, and in the next we can build a space rocket. Everyone can declare what they would like to do in this survey:

The survey is available to both current members and new members. We  encourage you to join GHOST this semester 😉

GHOST Day: Applied Machine Learning Conference

  • by Piotr Miara

For last few months our team is working on a big event: an all-day conference in PUT’s Conference Centre! Main theme is of course related to what we’re interested in: machine learning and artificial intelligence.

We’re planning an opening lecture, three parallel presentation tracks, lunch and coffee break. And it’s all for free! Remember though, number of tickets is limited. So look for the conference related news on the horizon and stay tuned 🙂

Research Grant for GHOST

  • by Piotr Miara

Together with KN RAI we decided to take part in a joint project. Our aim is to build a miniature of an autonomous car controlled by deep neural networks. The grant application has been approved positively! Soon KN RAI will start building the car, and then we will take the baton up and conduct a driving course 🙂
